The fitness technique called Pilates (pill-AH-tees) is a cross
between stretching and strengthening, starting from the inside of
the body. Pilates is an excellent technique for those rehabilitating
from an injury in addition to those who are looking for a low stress
form of strengthening that addresses most areas of weakness.
Pilates exercises are performed on a mat as well
as in conjunction with specialized equipment. Midwest Physical Therapy
offers physical therapists who are trained Pilates instructors to
work with people on mat programs.
